Who Needs a Coaches Card?
All Coaches and Volunteers, 18 years and older, are required to apply for a coach's card in order volunteer or participate on a team or with athletes.
Coach's cards will need to be worn and visible at all sports games. This is a requirement with each Sports League, as well as Chesterfield Parks and Recreation.
How Do I Get One?
To obtain a coach's card, the Police Release of Information Form and a photo ID will need to be taken up to the Chesterfield Police Headquarters where you will be required to go through the fingerprinting process.

Background fingerprinting processing sessions are available. These dates and times are the only times where this service is provided. For the background check session schedule and to read more information, please visit the Chesterfield Parks and Recreation website.
How Long is it good for?
An individual's card will be valid and active for three years after the date their card is issued. To continue volunteering or coaching, the individual must reapply and follow the above procedures to renew their card.
wHAT IS A COACH'S CARD?
A coach’s card is a card distributed by Chesterfield Parks & Recreation that verifies a background check has been performed and approved by Chesterfield County Police. This background check is required by our organization to perserve the safety and well-being of children.
